Kahla Trophy

We’re thrilled to announce the return of the Kahla Trophy, a much-loved Hale Golf Club tradition that hasn’t been played for several years. This year, we’re giving it a modern twist to make it more fun and inclusive than ever!

Date: Sunday 28th September 2025
Shotgun start: 3pm
Format: Front 9 Greensomes stableford– perfect for all abilities
Tees: red tees (for all players)
Entry Fee: £5 per pair

This year’s Kahla Trophy is for everyone with a family connection, not just parent/child! Bring along your mum, dad, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, sibling, in-law… the pairs just need to be of different generations. So for example grandmother & grandson works but husband & wife doesn’t. And at least one player in each pair must be a Hale Golf Club member, which means your playing partner can be from outside the club.

The Kahla trophy will be won by the pair that both have WHS handicaps and return the best score. If one or both of the pair don’t have WHS handicaps, they’ll be competing for a separate prize.

We’re also adding a 21st-century twist with fun spot prizes throughout the day so there’s something for everyone to play for, no matter how your scorecard is looking.

After golf, enjoy dinner and the prize presentation in the clubhouse. (food is likely to be a Sunday roast or burger & chips and will be charged separately from the entry fee). Other family members are warmly invited to join for the evening celebrations.

Let’s make the return of the Kahla Trophy a friendly, welcoming day that celebrates both golf and family.
