I’m the Club Pro at Hale GC and have been since 2009. I have over 20 years experience as a PGA Professional and am proud to be one of a small group of PGA Pros to have achieved Advanced PGA status.

Early Career
I started my career at Royal Birkdale GC where I won the PGA Trainee of the Year Award, sponsored by Titleist. I then made the short hop to Royal Lytham & St Anne’s GC where I completed my PGA training. Once qualified, I moved with my wife Elizabeth to Surrey where I worked at a large 64 bay driving range called Surrey Golf & Fitness (now TopGolf) in Addlestone. Here I coached on a full time basis and really honed my teaching skills. From there, I moved to the Drift GC in East Horsley, Surrey where I worked with Lee Johnson and continued my coaching. I also ran corporate days with the likes of Philips and Mercedes Benz and had more time to compete in County and Regional PGA tournaments.
Hale Golf Club
It was then the right time for us to head home and return to the North West. We bought a house in Altrincham in 2008. The following year was a pretty seminal one for me as our twin girls Sophie and Charlotte were born and I secured the job at Hale GC.
So I have been here at HGC for 15 years now and honestly don’t know where the time has gone! The course is a little gem and invariably in excellent condition. The practice facilities are great with a range which is over 200 yards in length, a 9 hole putting green and chipping green with two practice bunkers.
There is also an indoor golf room just off the Pro Shop, where I have a Trackman launch monitor situated. This enables lessons to go ahead whatever the weather. I also use it for clubfitting to help golfers select the right club for their game. It’s also a simulator so you can play a few holes at Royal Birkdale or Medinah without having to leave WA15!
Combine all this with a great membership and it’s easy to see why Hale is such a wonderful place to play golf. We hope to welcome you along soon!
