Message from our new President Jane Perks
Jane became president on Thursday so we wish her all the very best for her term f office and bid a fond farewell to John Gower-Jones. Thank you John.
I wanted to say a big thank you to those who were able to be at my inauguration on Thursday and also for all the lovely cards and messages I received, I am very grateful to all of you.
Klaxon
For your information, the klaxon situated near the 14th green is currently not working. It is something Greens have looked into and haven’t yet managed to find a robust fix for. We’ll keep you posted.
HGC Pro Am
Temperature in the 30s and tricky pin positions greeted the competitiors of the 2025 HGC Pro Am. The course was immaculate.
The winning team were Sally Budd, Jo Egerton, Joanne Bryant and their pro John Cheetham with a score of 126 (14 under par). In second place following a card play off were Xavier Brooke, Gary Beal, John Dunn and their pro Steve Croman with 129.
The winning pro, for the third consecutive year, was Jason Dransfield from Heswall GC with a one under par round of 69. There was then a three way tie for runners up spot with level par and those players were Adam Wilson, Matt Tottey and Alistair Waddell.
Simon Greenhalgh won the nearest the pin on the 4th, Steve Smith won the nearest the pin on the 11th and Tracey Thompson won the nearest the line on the 15th hole.
Thanks to everyone for supporting the event and making it such a memorable day.

Adult Junior (Fri 11/7/25)
Congrats to Matt McGrail and his father Rick for winning Friday’s Adult Junior. The other top 10 results are below. Below that is the OoM with one event to play on the 5th September. Ollie Grieves is the man to catch!


Ladies Bridgford & 9 hole Max Medal
Holly Rolinson won the Bridgford with nett rounds of 61 (yes you read that correctly!) and 74 for a 5 under total of 135. Chris Marsh was second with 139, which included a superb gross first round of 79.
Tiff Fielden won the Moir Cup with gross rounds of 84 and 51 for a 165 total. Chris Marsh was second in the Moir Cup as well just two strokes behind Tiff.
Jennifer Bradley won the front 9 max medal with a nett 31. Kate Morris was second with a nett 35.

Summer Meeting
The 2025 Summer Meeting was a great success. Thanks to all the competitors for the speed of play and also tothe volunteer marshalls. Huge thanks to all in comps for making this happen with special mention to Guy Levers and Brian Greenbank for all their hard work.
Well done to Alex Mills for his excellent gross scores of 70 and 74 to make a 144 total to win the Galloway Scratch. Chris Hinton was second with 152. The other winners are listed below along with some photos of the winners from Sunday’s presentation.







MCJL at Wilmslow GC
Louis Wild, Joe Booth and Jack Hickson rushed from playing 18 holes at HGC in the second round of the Summer Meeting on Sunday to play another 18 holes at Wilmslow GC to represent our junior section in the MCJL. Thank you lads, well done!
The individual and team results are below. It was clearly a tough day as the best score was 38 points (often these events will have several scores in the 40s). Hale’s best scorer was Ollie Grieves with 33 points.
Thanks to the whole team for taking part. There’s just one more event to play at Hartford GC on Sunday 20th July.
