Both of my daughters, Sophie & Charlotte, represented Bowdon club in the national final of the girls U16s tournament which was held at the Nottingham hockey centre on Saturday. Unfortunately they lost 6-2 to Southgate hockey club who are based in Enfield but they battled on throughout. And of course it was a great achievement just getting there in the first place. Many thanks to those of you who enquired how they’d got on.
No heartbreak for Rory though on this occassion as he completed the grand slam by winning the Masters on Sunday and became the first ever European to do so. It was truly captivating stuff. I was exhausted yesterday and that was just through watching!!

Last week, our very own Ollie Grieves won the Faldo Futures Event at Kirkby Lonsdale GC. He shot a gross 45 against a par of 36 to win by four shots. Well done Ollie, what a great achievement!
