Clothes maketh the Man

Hope you all enjoyed your second consecutive long weekend. We had a reasonably quiet week of news this time around but hope you enjoy the missive all the same.

Ladies Competitions

Well done to Irene Kirk for winning Thursday’s May Ashton 18 hole medal competition with a nett 75. Gwynneth Bramwell was shot back to finish in the runner up spot. Sue Bryant also shot a nett 76 but was beaten by Gwynneth on countback.

Val nelstrop won the nine hole max medal competition that was played over the front nine with a nett 37. Kerry Bailey was one of four players to finish with a nett 40 but she took second place following the card paly off.

The two winners are below plus a very patriotic table decoration for the lady captain from Sandra Mossop.

Adults for the Adult Junior Comps

We have our next Adult Junior competition this Friday with tee times from 1730. Occasionally we are short of adults and that is the case for this Friday so if you’d like to play, please let me know. It’s nine holes from the forward tees and good fun.

If you can’t make this one but are available to help on other occasions, again please let me know. The remaining fixtures for 2023 are as follows:

  • Fri 12/5/23 – tee times from 1730 onwards
  • Fri 23/6/23 – tee times from 1730 onwards
  • Fri 14/7/23 – tee times from 1730 onwards
  • Fri 8/9/23 – tee times from 1710 onwards

The Coronation of King Charles III

Gentleman captain Roger Laitt was spotted at Saturday’s nights Coronation dinner wearing this classically understated jacket, waist coat and tie combination!!

Caption from Last Week’s Photo

If you recall last week we ran a caption competition for the photo of the golf shoes in the bin! Thank you to those who sent in their suggestions. My favourite was from Roger Sheen. “Where is the bin for our clubs?” he enquired. 🙂
